I love my algorithm. It knows exactly what I want to see, and my friends and I are probably seeing pretty much the same things.. And honestly, I love that.
But I started thinking about how much I probably wasn't seeing.
I wanted to learn about things outside my usual interests. Not just the headlines everyone is talking about, but the random facts, ideas and stories that make you stop and think, “Wait, that's actually really interesting.”
I've also found that knowing a little about a lot of things is incredibly useful when meeting new people. Whether I'm at work, at an event or out for dinner, having a broader range of interests makes it easier to connect with people from different backgrounds and generations, ask better questions and get past the usual small talk.
So I created consider It known. Partly for you, partly to make myself learn something new three times a week.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I'll share three stories worth understanding, a new word, an idea from a book, a practical tip, a useful AI prompt and one unexpected rabbit hole to go down.
All in about five minutes.
A little disclaimer: I'm not a journalist, and I'm not pretending to be one. I choose the topics, research the stories and link to my sources. I also use ChatGPT to help polish my writing because sometimes I know exactly what I want to say, just not quite how to say it. The curiosity, editorial choices and final edits are mine.
The goal isn't to know everything. It's to step outside our usual feeds, learn something unexpected and have a little more to bring to the conversation.
